PM Shehbaz Sharif Said about Kissan Package:
The Prime Minister said that to help the farmers, the coalition government will give a subsidy of more than ten billion rupees to waive the markup fee on loans taken out by farmers in flood-affected areas.
The Prime Minister said that this big plan also includes 50 billion rupees in loans for young people in rural areas who want to invest in the agriculture sector. As a loan markup subsidy, the government will give 6.4 billion rupees toward this goal.
The new price of DAP has been set at 11,250 rupees per bag, the Prime Minister said. This is the result of successful talks with the people who make fertilizers. In order to do this, the government worked out with fertilizer makers a subsidy of 2500 rupees per bag.
He said that in this package, 5 billion rupees have been set aside to help pay for the interest on loans given to landless peasants in flood-affected areas. He said that farmers in flood-damaged areas will get 1,2 million bags of certified seed.

The Prime Minister said that Small and Medium Enterprises will be allowed to invest in the Agriculture sector. Small and medium-sized businesses that want to invest in this sector will be able to get loans with lower interest rates. We have set aside 6.4 billion rupees for this purpose. As part of their plan to update, they set aside 10 billion rupees.
The Prime Minister said that, because the prices of new tractors have gone up, farmers can now import used tractors that were made up to five years ago. The duty on a tractor that is five years old will be subsidized by 50%, while the duty on a tractor that is three years old will be subsidized by 36%. He said that the duty has been cut from 35% to 15% to encourage more people to start businesses making tractors.
Shehbaz Sharif also said that 500,000 tonnes of Urea would be brought in. He said that the import of 200,000 tonnes of Urea was finished and that the rest would be finished soon. He said that we gave a subsidy of 30 billion rupees for this reason.
The Prime Minister also said that Pakistan has been given permission to import 2.6 million tonnes of wheat, of which 1 million tonnes have already arrived. The remaining 1.6 million tonnes will be bought to make sure that Pakistan doesn’t run out of wheat.
Shehbaz Sharif said that there are about 300,000 Agri tube-wells in the country, and the government plans to solarize these tube wells by giving them a huge subsidy. This will help farmers lower their electricity bills. He said that agricultural tube wells will be charged a flat rate of 13 rupees per unit.
